This is my mare Rosie and her colt (born on my birthday, April 3rd)
Johnny Jump Up, or "JJ" for short. They are American Saddlbreds.

  1. Oh, my! Looks like you have a very handsome Saddlebred colt hiding behind Mama Rosie! How about treating us to a close up of his adorable face, maybe sniffing some of your gorgeous organic flowers??? I trust you planted carrots for him!

  2. Marsha,

Thanks for writing. I think JJ is handsome too, but I am a mother and so, am impartial about these things. JJ thinks he is the bees knees as well and sports a frisky attitude around the paddock, which is not entirely a bad thing as long as it stays in the cute, non-aggressive realm.

We have some organic carrots for him in the garden and should be pulling those up real soon but I won’t let him near the flowers (colts, as you know, are otherwise known as WMDs, more lethal than an 80-pound golden retriever).

  3. What a handsome boy! I think JJ is a PERFECT nickname…not just because he is adorable, but MY nickname used to be JJ, so naturally I approve!
